Locating and testing birth families in China takes thousands of unpaid hours of time and labor, expenses for travel and accommodations, and the high costs of DNA kits, testing, and shipping.

Focus on Matching

At DNAConnect.Org, we are extremely committed to our mission of matching China adoptees with their birth families, and 100 percent of the donations we receive goes toward locating and testing birth families. Donations help with some of the matching costs, but not all. While we could devote extra time to fundraising, we prefer to focus as much time as possible on our matching efforts. That’s why we are so successful at making matches.

 

Unparalleled Success

Our hard work is reflected in an unparalleled success rate: We currently match more than 1 in 6 birth families tested! Still, that means each match incurs the costs of six, which currently averages around $900. 

 

Multiple Benefits

The post-match fee of $299 (exceptions) provides three important benefits:

1. Value: It reminds adoptees that, instead of paying thousands of dollars and countless hours doing their own footwork trying to obtain a match on their own, they are paying DNAConnect.Org to do it at a fraction of the cost.

2. Payback: It reimburses in part DNAConnect.Org and the search community for the past work and expenses that resulted in their match; and

3. Sustainability: It helps DNAConnect.Org stay viable by encouraging adoptees and their families to give a free-will donation of $50 or more to help cover costs of future matches for themselves and other adoptees.
